We have two delightful cottages on our small holding which is in a wonderful rural location. Located just outside the village of Aislaby, surrounded by stunning countryside, just five miles from the ancient harbour of Whitby, once the home of Captain James Cook, with its cobbled streets, winding streets and hidden alleys, quaint coffee shops, beautiful beaches, traditional restaurants, award-winning fish and chips and of course the Abbey which inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Rose cottage offers accommodation for four people with a double and twin rooms and Poppy cottage is a double accommodation – together they sleep 6. They both have traditionally styled beamed ceilings and spacious open plan ground floor living covered in terracota tiles with under-floor heating. They are finished to a very high specification with comfy furniture and outdoor areas with tables to enjoy supper or simply make the most of the view.
These beautiful cottages offer an ideal base for walking and cycling with routes nearby along the bank of the River Esk, across moorland, through scenic valleys, historic railway tracks and spectacular coastline. Whitby is a mere 15 minute drive away. The village of Aislaby is located in the rolling countryside of the Esk Valley. A small rural village, quiet and secluded with pretty sandstone cottages clustered around a main street with church and Forge Inn. Discover the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway at Grosmont, explore the old Mill on the banks of the River Esk, wander around the pretty fishing villages or spend a day on the beach.
These are beautiful cottages in a gorgeous area and seemed to be loved by all whether it is a romantic retreat, family get together or simply get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday living.
Both, smoke free, cottages have an eco carbon neutral biomass, underfloor heating, partly powered by a wind turbine. Well equipped kitchen including Nespresso coffee machine. Smart TV. High speed internet. Selection of books and DVDs. Fuel and power, sumptuous high quality sateen Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels included in the rent. Travel cot and highchair on request. Ample secure private parking. Bike storage. Patio/Deck lawned and gravelled areas with furniture. One small, quiet, dog allowed in Rose cottage.
